KNOTEN WIE WOLKEN is Michael Sailstorfer’s exhibition bringing together four bodies of work that circle around transformation, material agency, and the shifting states between weight and lightness, binding and release.

Sailstorfer reflects on matter not as something passive, but as something active: reacting, changing, storing, releasing, and forming new relationships. Across painted lead clouds, knotted bronze, rubber-tube skies, and glowing neon circuits, familiar materials leave behind their usual functions and enter a state of becoming.
